16_1Sultan Mahmood is the founder and CEO of Sultan Enterprise, one of the leading customs clearing agents in Pakistan. He founded the company in 1970 with a vision to provide fast, reliable and hassle-free services to its clients. Mr. Sultan Mahmood has more than 42 years of experience in the customs clearance industry and his efforts have helped the company to create abroad base of clients and to develop a unique market status in the import industry of steel and paper.

As a Custom Agent and Importer he has served at various capacities for several trade associations. From 1999 – 2003 he was elected four times continuously as the President of Karachi Custom Agents Group (KCAG). During his term as the President of KCAG he redefined the role of KCAG by not only providing facilitative services but also by playing a supportive role in solving issues between clearing agents and the customs authority.

From 2004 – 2007 Mr. Sultan Mahmood served as a Member of the Managing Committee of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). In 2004 he was appointed as the Chairman of the Customs and Valuation Sub-Committee of KCCI. In 2005 he was served as the Chairman of Import and Anti-Smuggling Sub-Committee and in 2006 he was appointed as the Advisor to the Import and Anti-Smuggling Sub-Committee of KCCI. During his term at the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry he played a vital role in solving various issues related to the matter of valuation of goods at Customs. He also helped to initiate various efforts implemented towards anti-smuggling of imported cargo.

Besides serving at key positions of KCAG and KCCI Mr. Sultan Mahmood is also a member of the All Paper Merchant Association of Karachi and the Arts Council of Pakistan. With more than 42 years of experience he has helped to solve various problems faced by importers and the Custom Agents community. He has played an advisory role in many different customs related cases regarding valuation and taxes levied upon imported cargo.
